Saints All-Pro right tackle Ryan Ramczyk just received a massive payday.

Ramczyk and the Saints have agreed to a five-year, $96 million extension that includes $60 million guaranteed, according to multiple reports. This makes him the highest-paid right tackle in NFL.

Ramczyk was set to make $11.064 million in 2021, but will make $19.2 million after the pay bump. The new amount surpasses the $18 million annual record at the position, which was previously held by Lane Johnson of the Philadelphia Eagles.

“It’s awesome. But at the end of the day, I’m going to go out and do what I always do and train the way I do,” Ramczyk said, per Pro Football Talk.

The 27-year-old was selected with the last pick (32nd overall) in the first round of the 2017 draft out of Wisconsin. He was part of a major draft class haul that included Alvin Kamara, Marshon Lattimore, Marcus Williams, and Trey Hendrickson.

Ramczyk has been one of the best right tackles in the league since joining the Saints. He has allowed 10 total sacks and 10 QB hits while missing just one game in four seasons.

In 2019, he did not allow a single sack and was a first team All-Pro selection. He made the second team in 2018 and 2020.

Ramcyzk’s deal now extends through the 2026 season, but it remains unclear who he will be blocking for. The Saints are expected to have a quarterback competition this summer between Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill after Drew Brees retired, and it’s possible neither are on the roster by 2022.
