  • Two flavours are available for $4.99 per box of six and were spotted at Aldi
  • Banana and raspberry flavours are currently in stores but are sold separately
  • The ice cream is covered in a layer of smooth chocolate like the new lolly 'bites'

Australian confectionery brand Allen's has transformed the chocolate covered raspberry and banana lollies into miniature ice cream 'bites'.

The new products were spotted on store shelves by Aldi customers who shared the news on social media.

Inspired by the lollies, the dairy milk ice cream is covered in a layer of smooth milk chocolate and each box contains six miniature ice cream sticks to enjoy.

The banana and raspberry flavoured desserts are sold separately for $4.99 per box and seem to have quietly launched.

Other shoppers online already seem eager to try the new products and have shared their excitement about the new ice cream online.

'Omg! I hope I can get these tomorrow!' one woman wrote, another said: 'Omg yum!'

A third who had already tried the dessert said it's 'very addictive', but other shoppers from parts of the country complained the product wasn't stocked at their local Aldi supermarket.

The buzz sparked after Australian comedian Christian Hull shared a photograph on Facebook of the ice cream stick in its original packaging.

The ice cream itself is 'a golden blend of caramelised white chocolate', exactly like the Caramilk chocolate bars.
