UNITED NATIONS: The possible use of weaponised drones for terrorism calls for serious attention by the global community, India has told the UN General Assembly. "Misuse of information and communication technology for terrorist propaganda, radicalisation and recruitment of cadre; misuse of new payment methods and crowdfunding platforms for financing of terrorism; and misuse of emerging technologies for terrorist purposes have emerged as the most serious threats," special secretary (internal security), ministry of home affairs, V S K Kaumudi said. "Another add on" is drones, he said. "Being low cost and easily available, these aerial/sub-surface platforms...have become an imminent danger," he said at the second high-level conference of the head of counter-terrorism agencies of member states in the General Assembly.
