'She said "mum I will be alright" but in my head I didn't think she was alright,' Ms Hamka's tearful mother told Nine News.
'I really want my daughter because I can't sleep. I can't eat and sometimes in the night, I hear noises and I call, "Maryam are you home, are you home?" And she is not.'
The missing woman's former partner, who lives in Brighton in Melbourne's south, recently appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court to answer unrelated assault charges.
Mr Loughnane remains in police custody and has not been charged with any crimes relating to Ms Hamka's disappearance.
Ms Hamka had told her family she was going to visit a friend in Brighton but she hasn't been seen since.

Detectives previously scoured her car and home after Ms Hamka was reported missing on April 15.
Missing Person's detectives believe a red Mazda 3 seized by police may hold the key to solving the mystery of what happened to Ms Hamka.
Police say the car, which has damage to its front left guard, was on the road during 'unusual' hours and may have travelled to regional Victoria between April 13 to 15.
Ms Hamka's phone has been switched off since she went missing and Detective Inspector Andrew Stamper said serious concerns are held for her safety and her family is distraught.
'She was a good girl, she was always happy and loves kids,' Ms Hamka's mother said.
'It shouldn't happen to any girl, not only my daughter.'

Detective Inspector Stamper told reporters it was not unusual for her to be out of contact with her family for several days - but relatives became increasingly concerned as the days passed after April 10.
They have been unable to reach her, and she has not been active on social media.
'They have serious concerns, as we do, for her welfare,' Detective Inspector Stamper told reporters in April.
Ms Hamka is 165cm tall, with a thin build and long black hair, brown eyes, and an olive complexion.
Anyone who may have any information about her whereabouts or saw the red Mazda between April 13 and April 15 is urged to contact police immediately.
