Under Solid and Liquid Resource Management (SLRM), these didis collect garbage from door to door every day. In the waste management center, kitchen waste is being used to prepare vermicompost. The compost is tested regularly in the laboratory of the Agriculture Department so that there is no complaint about the quality. So far, about 1,200 quintals of vermicompost have been prepared by self-help group sisters in municipal waste management centers, out of which eight quintals have been sold. They provide a packet of two kg at the rate of Rs 15 per kg for Rs 30. Ambikapur is the first city in Chhattisgarh to do this kind of innovation.
