Big Brother EXCLUSIVE: Marley Biyendolo vows to take care of his father with the $250,000 prize after a 'tough few years' as the basketballer reveals his future with the NBL

Marley Biyendolo was announced as the winner of Big Brother on Tuesday, taking home the $250,000 cash prize.

And the 26-year-old basketballer says the money will help him take care of his father Clotaire, after his mother Victoria's death from cancer.

'This amount of money, through everything that we've been through, especially of late. Our lives... dad's life has now changed. It's gone up,' he told Daily Mail Australia.

'It's been a tough four or five years, especially since mum left. And I know that now his life's turned around and I've been able to do that for him. So I'm so proud of that.'

The disability support worker also spoke about his basketball career, revealing he will complete the NBL1 season with the Dandenong Rangers, before stepping away from the sport to explore his post-Big Brother opportunities.

'Obviously basketball has been my biggest passion my whole life. I've been playing it for 15-plus years and it's taken me all across the world. But at this point, I've got so much going on,' he said.

'So if that means I have to put basketball in the back seat just for a second here, or even for the time being, that just might be how it is - because I want to explore these avenues and opportunities that hopefully can come my way.'

Elsewhere, Marley revealed his celebrations with his father and brother Dieuson were understated as they toasted in a hotel room after the finale.

'We just went back to the hotel and we pumped it up with the champagne, put on some music and just had a moment together,' he said.

'I think it was a beautiful way to wrap things up. We were still on cloud nine.'
