You need to carry your Aadhaar card along with your mobile phone at the walk-in vaccine camp
If you are walk-in to a Covid vaccine camp without registering before on CoWin website then you will need to carry your Aadhaar card and a working mobile phone that belongs to you. You don’t need to necessarily have a smartphone but you need to have access to that mobile number to get OTPs and vaccine certificates.
You will get a four digit OTP on the your mobile number to verify your vaccine registration
After registering yourself at the walk-in vaccine camp, you will get a four digit OTP on your mobile number to confirm your registration. This is an important step before the vaccine is given. Don’t take the vaccine unless you get this OTP. Unless your registration is complete on the CoWin system, you will not be able to download the vaccine certificate. Also, this OTP registration system prevents you from fake vaccination camps.
Soon after you get the vaccine you will get an SMS on the registered phone number
The moment you get the vaccine you will get an SMS from the CoWin platform that will have your full name, the name of the vaccine, date and time of vaccination along with the link to download your vaccine certificate.
Verify Covid vaccine certificate by scanning the QR code
All Covid vaccine certificates in India come with a dedicated QR code. You should verify this QR code to check the authenticity of the same. Here’s how to check the validity of Covid vaccine certificate:
- Visit the CoWin verification website-- https://verify.cowin.gov.in/
- Click on “Scan QR code” on the website
- Point the camera to the QR code on the certificate issued and scan
- An authentic vaccine certificate will show “Certificate Successfully Verified” on scanning the QR code and details like these will be shown-- Name, Age, Gender, Beneficiary Reference ID, Date of Dose, Certificate Issued: Provisional/Final, Vaccination at_____.
