Ludhiana: Two people lost their lives to Covid-19 and 24 tested positive in Ludhiana on Tuesday. Chief medical officer Dr Kiran Ahluwalia said the district casualties included a 72-year-old man of Vishnupuri and a 55-year-old man of Seelon Kalan village. The district’s toll has increased to 2,085. Of the 24 new cases, two are healthcare workers, six are from OPD, one from flu corner, two severe acute respiratory infection cases and four through tracing process. There are 345 active cases. Eight patients, including a Ludhianvi, are on ventilators. The number of occupied beds in isolation wards of government hospitals is 25 and 91 in private hospitals. As many as 9,445 samples were sent for testing on the day. To date, 17,03,598 samples have been collected. The district’s case count is 86,947 and that of outsiders here is 11,498. The recovery rate is 97.21%. No vaccination on Wednesday The health department official said due to no vaccine supply, no session of vaccination would be organized in Ludhiana on Wednesday.
