Gurugram: Share details of beds, drug stocks & oxygen supply, private hospitals told

GURUGRAM: To prepare for a possible third wave of Covid-19, the health department on Monday directed all private hospitals to share data on paediatric and adult ward beds, ICU and ventilator beds, medicine stocks and oxygen supply by July 1.
Hospitals have also been asked to inform the department about plans to upgrade their facilities to treat Covid patients aged up to 18 years if the need arises.
“The measures are being taken in view of potential situations where there may be increased incidents of paediatric Covid cases. The hospitals are to share details on isolation beds for Covid cases, suspected Covid cases, isolation beds for paediatric wards, oxygen support for isolation and confirmed wards, neonatal beds, ventilators reserved for paediatric patients. Hospitals will also share their oxygen cylinder data,” said Dr Virender Yadav, chief medical officer, Gurugram.
After getting the information, the health department will prepare an estimate for additional capacity at each hospital. It will also share the details of the number of beds for paediatric Covid care in each hospital with the Haryana government. It also plans to set up paediatric Covid care facilities with provisions for the stay of a parent or caregiver with the child.
“We have also been getting data of government facilities as well. We will have a meeting with all private hospitals on July 2 to ensure that measures for a possible third wave are being carried out by all health facilities,” the CMO added.
8 new cases, 2 deaths
Gurugram reported eight new Covid cases on Monday, bringing the total tally to 1,80,667. The positivity rate stood at 0.2%. There are 130 active cases in the city now. Two Covid deaths were also reported on the day, taking the toll to 898. The fatality rate stands at 0.3% at present. As many as 12 people recovered from Covid in the district on Monday. The total number of recoveries has reached 1,79,639 so far, while the recovery rate is 99.6%.
In the past 24 hours, the health authorities collected 3,509 samples for antigen and RT-PCR tests. Till now, 16,34,483 samples have been sent for testing.
