Allister Coetzee has opened up about his return to international coaching after being named Namibia head coach.
After being sacked as Springbok coach in 2018, Coetzee went on to the Canon Eagles in Japan but left the club last year.
In an interview with Netwerk24, Coetzee candidly spoke about his time in charge of South Africa and his current position.
"I had my challenges, but I have no regrets about that time," he said. "I learned a lot and as long as you learn it’s a good thing."
He coached the Boks between 2016 and 2018 but won only 11 of 25 Tests in charge, a spell which included a 57-15 and 57-0 losses to the All Blacks and a 20-18 defeat to Italy.
Commenting on his new job, Coetzee said: "This is always what one wants to be doing - to coach at the highest level.
"And it's nice to see how well rugby is doing in the emerging nations."
Coetzee's contract with Namibia runs until the end of the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
