The new flagship processor by Qualcomm promises about 20 per cent AI and performance improvements over the Snapdragon 888

Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus
Chipset manufacturer Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 888 Plus processor at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2021). The new processor is an upgraded version of Snapdragon 888.
The Snapdragon 888 Plus also supports Quick Charge 5, which it claims can fully charge a phone in less than 15 minutes. For connectivity, it has support for GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS, NavIC, and SBAS in addition to Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, and NFC.
It is powered by the 6th generation Qualcomm AI Engine with 32TOPS (Terra Operation Per Second) performance. The company claims that its offers 20 per cent more performance than its predecessor.
What’s New?
One of the major updates that it gets from the last generation is Kryo 680 which has a maximum speed of 2.995Ghz. For graphics, it gets the Adreno 660 GPU.
It also has a Snapdragon X60 5G modem which is claimed to offer a speed of up to 7.5Gbps. For Wi-Fi connectivity, it boasts Qualcomm Fast Connect 6900 The chipset maker also announced that the smartphone with the Snapdragon 888 Plus will be launched in the third quarter of 2021.
The Snapdragon 888 Plus is powered by the Spectra 580 ISP with a processing speed of 2.7 gigapixels per second. It can record three photos of 28 megapixels or three 4K HDR videos simultaneously. The new processor Snapdragon supports the full range of gaming features from variable-rate shading to quick touch.
