
UEFA EURO 2020, England vs Germany Highlights: Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane struck as England reached the quarter-finals of the European Championship with a 2-0 win over rivals Germany at Wembley on Tuesday. England will play either Sweden or Ukraine, who meet later on Tuesday in Glasgow in the last eight.
It was England’s first knockout round victory inside 90 minutes at the Euros and came after midfielder Jack Grealish was introduced in the 69th minute. Six minutes later, after a swift passing move, left wing-back Luke Shaw slipped the ball across the face of the goal for Sterling to slide in. Grealish was the direct provider for England’s second, crossing from the left for Kane to beat goalkeeper Manuel Neuer with a stooping header.
Earlier, England keeper Jordan Pickford did well to keep out Timo Werner before tipping over a stinging volley from Kai Havertz. At the other end, Mats Hummels denied Kane with a last-ditch clearance just before halftime.

GOAALL! England skipper Harry Kane scores towards the end of the match to give them 2-0 lead against Germany. Jack Grealish sets up Harry Kane and he nods home to double the lead. Kane and Sterling wait in the middle for Grealish's cross. It is the England skipper who produces a diving header to double the lead. Kane grabs his first goal of the tournament. VAR checked, not offside.
Sterling gives away possession away. Havertz breaks forward, slotting in Muller, who is played onside by the indecisive Stones as the centre-back can't decide whether to stay or go on the halfway line. Muller has only Pickford to beat as he goes through one-on-one but he drags his effort wide of goal.
Maguire goes into the book for clipping the ankles of Kimmich. Germany get a free-kick right on the edge of the area.

Sterling powers inside of Rudiger, feeding Kane, who offloadds to Grealish, who plays Shaw on the overlap. Shaw sends a low cross across and Sterling speeds towards the near post, deflecting a low right-footed finish past Neuer andd into the bottom right corner. Sterling has now scored 15 goals in his last 20 matches for England
Gosens is needlessly late on Trippier and the referee shows him a yellow card to the wing-back. Tripper sits himself on the floor as he looks to be struggling with hamstring. Stoppage in play as England physios check on him. Trippier returns to the pitch.

Hummels flicks backwards and Saka looks to capitalise but Ginter mmakes a superb last-ditch sliding tackle to play backwards. Saka stays down and dGermany put the ball out of play to allow the Aresenal youngster some quick treatment.
Kane seems to have banged his knees with Hummels but it appears as though he will be fit to carry on for the time being. The Three Lions captain composes himself on the touchline before returning to the pitch.
Germany begin the second half confidently, enjoying mmost of the posession. After Muller looses the ball, it bounces itowards the edge of the area. Havertz connects sweetly with left-footed volley and Pickford reacts quickly to tip over a wonderful save.
The second half at Wembley is underway. Raheem Sterling gets the ball rolling for England.
It is all square at Wembley at half-time between England and Germany in the Round of 16. Kane denied by last-ditch tackle; Sterling effort saved. Werner first-half shot was blocked by Pickford.
Sterling powers inwards but Ginter does well to tackle from behind. His intervention however meets Kane, who touches around Neuer. Hummels produces a last-ditch tackle to remove danger right before half-time.
Referee gave Kalvin Phillips enough chances and finally cautions the midfielder for catching Kroos late. A minute of added time at Wembley Stadidum before half-time.
Maguire plays into the feet of Kane, who twists and turns before being ghauled down by Goretzka. Free-kick awarded around 25 yards from goal. Trippier chips over the German defence but Hummels does well to produce a headed clearance in front of Kane.
Havertz drifts into a pocket of space before sliding through for Werner, who from the left of goal sees his left-footed strike saved by Pickford, who raced off his line to close down the angle and stop perhaps the best chance Germany had.
Maguire spares a glorious opportunity as he heads wide off goal to the right from near the penalty spot. Trippier takes the corner from right but Kane fails to redirect in the right direction.
Sterling knocks past Ginter before the centre-back drags down Shaw on the left flank. Ginter gets warning, shown yellow for the tackle or the dissent that followed.
Luke Shaw sends the ball towards far post, an under-pressure Stones tries to attack. Goretzka catches Saka late in the middle of the park.England get a chance to move forward their centre-backs. Saka insists he is fouled by Kroos but referee waves 'keep playing'.
