PUNE: A 65-year-old resident of Sant Tukaramnagar in
Pimpri on Monday morning ended his life by hanging from the ceiling of his house.

Kokate, sub-inspector of the Pimpri police told TOI, "The elderly man's relative told us that the man was disturbed since the death of his wife due to Covid-19 about two months ago."
Kokate said that the man hailed from
Punjab. About two months ago he and his wife had gone to their native place, where both of them had tested positive for the Covid-19.
"The man was recovered but his wife succumbed to the virus. He was upset since then," Kokate said.
Kokate said that the couple did not have children. "The man had returned to Pimpri recently. On Monday morning, he was found hanging to the ceiling fan with a rope. His relatives had noticed him and took him to a hospital. He was declared dead by the doctors," Kokate said.
A case of accidental death has been registered with the Pimpri police.
