How to disable Alexas By the way suggestions
If you own an Amazon Alexa device and use it regularly you might have heard Alexa giving “By the way” suggestions. For example, while asking Alexa to set an alarm, it advises you whether you want to set a daily alarm.

The additional options and suggestions are useful for a new user, but after a while it can get annoying. If that’s the case with you, here’s how you can turn it off.

It is important to know that there’s no default settings within the Alexa app which allows you to turn these suggestions on/off. But, it can be done by turning on Brief Mode.

What is Brief Mode?

Brief Mode is a voice response setting for Alexa to speak less and play sound cues instead of giving a spoken response.

Pre-requisites:

Latest version of Alexa app
Working internet connection

1.

Open the Alexa app on your smartphone

2.

Tap on More from the bottom right corner and choose Settings

3.

Then, tap on Voice Responses

4.

Turn on Brief Mode toggle
