A day after two Indian Air Force personnel were left injured in two blasts at the Indian Air Force (IAF) base, two drones were spotted over the Ratnuchak-Kaluchak Military area on the intervening night of June 27-28, reported news agency ANI.

One drone was spotted at 11.45 pm on Sunday night and the other at 2.40 am, the officials told PTI.

According to reports, alert Army troops fired at two drones found hovering over the Ratnuchak-Kaluchak military areas. Lt Col Devender Anand, PRO (Defence), told news agency ANI that the drones flew away after the army fired at them.

"High alert was sounded and Quick Reaction Teams engaged them with firing. Both the drones flew away. A major threat thwarted by the alertness and proactive approach of troops. Security forces are on high alert and search operation is in progress," Lt Col Devender Anand said.

The latest incident comes barely a day after a drone, in a first-of-its kind strike, dropped two bombs at Indian Air Force (IAF) station in Jammu, causing minor injuries to two personnel.

Two Indian Air Force personnel were injured in the explosions that took place around 1.40 am within six minutes of each other. The first blast ripped off the roof of a single-storey building at the high security technical area of the airport manned by the IAF in Satwari area of the city. The second one was on the ground, the officials said. Jammu and Kashmir police chief Dilbag Singh has termed the incident a "terror attack".
