Maruti Suzuki introduced its subscription-based leasing model in India last year. Initially, the services were launched in two cities – Bengaluru and Gurugram as its pilot project. However, the services expanded to many new cities over time. Maruti Suzuki has now announced that the subscription-based services will be available in new cities including Jaipur, Indore, Mangalore and Mysore.
With the new cities added to the list, Maruti Suzuki currently offers subscription-based services in a total of 19 cities across India. Maruti Suzuki has also launched a unified platform to offer car subscription product through multiple partners at a competitive price. Currently, Maruti Suzuki has three partners in India – Orix Auto Infrastructure, ALD Automotive and Myles Automotive Technologies.
Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) Maruti Suzuki India, said,
“Car subscription is a new and upcoming concept for the Indian market. We are regularly upgrading our Subscribe programme with learnings and feedback from customers. The marketplace model will offer more power to customers to select from a bouquet of options, as per their requirements. This will lead to competitive price offerings coupled with transparency of the process. With an addition of four new cities in our network, we look forward to serving more customers.”
Both registration types available
Maruti Suzuki subscription plans offer both white plates (private) and black plates (commercial). A white plate subscription, wherein the vehicle is registered in the customer’s name, tenure options include12, 24, 36, or 48 months.
The annual kilometre options available are 10,000 km, 15,000 km, 20,000 km and 25,000 km. In the black plate subscription, the vehicle is registered in the name of the subscription partner. Tenure options available for the same are 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, or 48 months and the annual kilometre options available are 10,000 km, 15,000 km, 18,000 km and 25,000 km.
Maruti Suzuki will provide brand-new cars under the leasing plan. All the cars under the leasing plan will be delivered within 15 days of the payment. All the customers will get the option to choose the colour of the vehicle they want to lease.
The brand will offer cars like WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Ertiga, Ciaz, Ertiga and Vitara Brezza from the Arena line-up and Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz, and XL6 from the Nexa line-up. Both manual and automatic variants will be available.
Maruti Suzuki will do a background check and customers who are 25 years and older and are resident of India will be able to use these plans. Also, the customers need to have a valid driving license and a CIBIL score of 700 and above. It is the first time that the brand has entered into private leasing plans in India. Maruti Suzuki already offers leasing plans to the corporates.
