The GMC Hummer EV pickup is due in showrooms this fall in its top trim, a 1,000-hp electric supertruck that General Motors estimates will have a battery range of more than 350 miles on a full charge.
Watts to Freedom: A performance feature launches the Hummer from 0 to 60 mph in about 3 seconds, based on GM estimates. As the vehicle prepares for the bolt, the driver's seat vibrates, racing sounds erupt from 14 Bose speakers, and vibrant graphics flash onto the infotainment screen.
UltraVision: Front and rear underbody cameras help drivers get through obstacles and place wheels on and off the trail while off-roading. The cameras have 18 available views.
Regen on Demand and One-Pedal Driving: Braking features convert the kinetic energy of the Hummer's forward momentum into electricity for the battery pack for optimum range. Pulling a steering wheel paddle activates Regen on Demand, which slows the vehicle to a full stop without use of the brake pedal. One-Pedal Driving can slow the vehicle to a stop with the accelerator. Terrain Mode also integrates the brake system with One-Pedal Driving for more control while off-roading.
