Wimbledon 2021: Novak Djokovic vs Jack Draper
Defending champion Novak Djokovic will begin his quest for record 20th and straight third grand slam against little-known Jack Draper of Britain. The 19-year-old will be making his Grand Slam debut in Wimbledon. He needs to play out of his skin if he has to give any fight to the Serbian legend. Djokovic is the hot favourite to win the match in straight sets but he often struggles to win games easily in his initial matches.
Wimbledon 2021: Ash Barty vs Navarro
Women’s singles World No.1 Ash Barty will be up against Carlo Suarez Navarro in the opening round match of Wimbledon 2021. The Aussie will look forward to a good start against her Spanish competitor in her quest for her maiden Wimbledon title. She has never made it past round 4 in the London showpiece event. Navarro, on the other hand, has failed to do well in her last few outings in Grand Slam. Thus, this match is also unlikely to last long and could end in favour of Barty.
Wimbledon 2021: Sasnovich vs Serena Williams
Women’s Tennis legend Serena Williams will begin quest for record 24th Grand Slam against Aliaksandra Sasnovich. The latter had last made it to the second round of the Wimbledon. Her Grand Slam best came when she reached the semifinals of the US Open 2019. Serena Williams’ form is a big concern heading into the match and she is clearly not the favourite to win the contest. However, she has a good chance of winning the title by bringing her A-game in absence of defending champion Simona Halep and 4-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka.
Wimbledon 2021: Mannarino vs Federer
Tennis legend and runner-up Roger Federer will play against Adrian Mannarino in the first round of Wimbledon 2021. Mannarino is coming on the back of a good form in the grass-court tennis event Mallorca Open. He has earlier made it to round 4 of the Wimbledon thrice. Owing to the ongoing form of Swiss legend Federer, the French can come out on top. Federer, meanwhile, is eyeing a record 21st Grand Slam. He is currently level with Rafael Nadal with 20 Grand Slams each.
Wimbledon 2021: Barbora Krejcikova vs Clara Tauson
French Open 2021 singles and doubles Barbora Krejcikova will be bidding for her second straight title when she will take the court against Denish player Clara Tauson in the opening round of the Wimbledon 2021. The latter will only be making her Wimbledon double while Krejcikova will be looking to continue her blistering form in the year’s third grand slam. The 25-year-old had defeated the likes of Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, M Sakkari, Coco Gauff, Sloane Stephens to win the French Open 2021.
