    Dow Jones drops 100 pts, Nasdaq hits record high as tech stocks jump

    The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq hit record levels shortly after the open on Monday as tech-related growth stocks rose, while investors awaited data on the health of a U.S. labor market recovery and corporate earnings later in the week.

    The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 124.57 points, or 0.36%, in early deals to 34,309.27.

    The S&P 500 declined 1.70 point, or 0.04%, to 4,279.00 soon after logging an all-time high of 4,288.41.

    The Nasdaq Composite rose 75.18 points, or 0.52%, to 14,435.56 after soaring to an all-time high of 14,460.73.
