LUCKNOW: A patient succumbed to coronavirus and five more uncounted fatalities were recorded on Sunday, while at least 23 more people tested positive.
The five backlog deaths are those which occurred during April and May but remained uncounted because the hospitals did not update them on the state health department’s Covid portal. With this, the count of such deaths has mounted to 111.
On Saturday, the number of new cases had dropped to 11, the lowest in 112 days, and no death was reported.
As many as 13 more patients recovered on Sunday. The number of active cases was 267.
Meanwhile, black fungus infection or mucormycosis also claimed the lives of two patients, including a city resident.
Both the patients — a 55-year-old man from Bareilly and 60-year-old from Lucknow — were under treatment at KGMU.
Three more mucormycosis patients were admitted to KGMU, while three others were discharged.
