IED weighing 10 kilograms recovered & defused by security forces in Giridih

Giridih, Jun 28 (UNI) In a major success for the security forces a can bomb weighing 10 kilograms has been recovered from the Pirtand Police Station area of this district which was later also defused.
Police sources on Monday said following a tip-off a joint team of district police and CRPF led by ASP Operations Gulshan Tirkey and CRPF Commandant Rajvardhan Singh conducted the search operation during which the IED was recovered from the Charki-Palma road.
The road is often used by the security forces to conduct search and combing operations against the Maoists. Later the IED was safely defused by the security forces.
