Cardi B commanded the stage at last night’s 2021 BET Awards in a sparkling catsuit, simultaneously showing off her new baby bump.
For a special performance of the song “Type Sh–” with Migos, Cardi B wore an embellished black catsuit by Dolce & Gabbana. The bodycon garment, worn over a pair of close-toed black pumps, was covered in oversized crystals and featured a sheer front panel that outlined her baby bump. Cardi B announced her second pregnancy with husband Offset on Instagram, moments before she stepped onstage.

The bold ensemble was on-trend with similar styles that have gone viral this year by brands like Laguna Smith and Mugler. It was also reminiscent of past glittering looks the “WAP” singer has worn by Moschino, Mugler and more top brands that featured full-body sparkle. Cardi B frequently wears head-to-toe monochrome outfits in the same color, texture, or print with matching shoes, as previously seen in her ensembles from labels like Richard Quinn, Christian Cowan and Tom Ford.

Following her performance with Migos, the “Be Careful” rapper donned a tiger-print cardigan and mini skirt with a fur stole for dinner at BOA Steakhouse with Offset. On the accessories front, she wore a pair of chunky gold hoop earrings and carried an orange crocodile Hermes Birkin.

Cardi B slipped on a pair of bold orange open-toed sandals to complement her wild outfit. The heels featured a pointed sole and PVC toe straps, which have been trending in a range of styles this season by brands like Gianvito Rossi and Bottega Veneta. Their bright hue complemented the same colors in her handbag and clothing, proving a perfect match.

On the shoe front, there isn’t a style Cardi hasn’t worn. The singer frequently favors coordinating pairs for all of her outfits, often wearing styles by top brands like Casadei, Jessica Rich and Giuseppe Zanotti. Cardi’s biggest shoe love, of course, is Christian Louboutin; the singer’s regularly seen in numerous pairs of pointed-toe pumps by the top designer, which she coined “bloody shoes” due to their bright red soles in her iconic song “Bodak Yellow.”
The Grammy Award-winning artist is a mainstay in the fashion world, regularly appearing in the front rows of brands like Chanel, Thom Browne and Christian Siriano. As part of her ongoing partnership with Reebok, Cardi created a “Mommy and Me” collection this spring, inspired by her daughter, Kulture. The singer’s also co-designed collections with Steve Madden and Fashion Nova, and recently filed trademark paperwork with the United States Patent and Trademark Office last fall for the term “WAP,” for a variety of items from footwear to apparel to even alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
