Actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee who has been entertaining her fans and followers on social media, recently took to the virtual platform and shared a video of her attempt at belly dancing.

The Bong babe captioned it as, “Practice. Practice. Practice. In love with this dance form. I am not yet learnt properly to post a full dance. Still learning. But I am sure as soon as I finish my course will share with you all for sure. Till then enjoy this…"

However, the actress was brutally trolled for the same as a section of netizens hopped on the comments section referring to her onscreen character of “Gopi Bahu”.

Regardless of the constant trolling on social media, Devoleena has always kept her head held high in a society that looks down upon women in showbiz.

The "Saath Nibhana Saathiya" actress feels women are the most important and beautiful part of society.

"I feel the central role of women in society has ensured stability, progress and long-term development. I come from Assam, and there I have seen how labour done by men is almost equal to women. Like in a tea garden, women play a major role -- from taking care of tea plants to plucking tea leaves," she told IANS.

"I feel, my two shows -- "Saathiya" and "Sawaare Sabke Sapne Preeto" -- set a good example that women can do everything and are an important part of society. They are in no way less (than men). I'm lucky to be part of such shows," she said, adding that she wished to act in a historical woman's biography someday.
