Encounter between Security Forces, PLFI ultras in Gudri of West Singhbhum

Chaibasa, Jun 27 (UNI) An encounter on Sunday took place in Jatrama under Gudri Police Station area of the West Singhbhum district between security forces and ultras belonging to People's Liberation Front of India.

Police sources said that a tip off had been received regarding the presence of PLFI squad led by their supremo Dinesh Gope in the area after which the search was conducted during which the encounter took place.

Chaibasa SP Ajay Linda confirmed the incident. He said that after the information regarding the presence of PLFI ultras in Jatrama, a joint team of Chaibasa and Khunti district police alongwith the jawans of CRPF and Jharkhand Jaguar conducted raids.

Upon seeing the jawans the ultras opened fire which was retaliated back the SP said adding that as the ultras got sorrounded they managed to flee into deeper reaches of the forest taking advantage of the difficult terrain. Search and combing operations are on in the area.
