Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Baghsewania police have booked a Delhi-based firm for duping Jan Aushadhi Kendra to the tune of Rs 65 lakh.
The company had sold sub- standard sanitary napkins to the Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Baghsewania. They sent simple pieces of cotton napkins in the name of sanitary pads.
The Jan Aushadhi Kendra had floated tender for sanitary pads in 2019, and the firm owned by Shruti Bansal, Yudhveer Anand and Vaibhav Garg bagged the contract. The Jan Aushadhi Kendra received the consignment and when it distributed the pads to the shops around, all the shopkeepers returned the order.
Later, a lab test confirmed that the napkins were of sub-standard quality.
The management of the Kendra later asked the firm to return the money but they kept on dillydallying. The complainant Durgesh Narayan Gautam, general manager of Jan Aushadhi Kendra told police that the accused did not return money even after two years.
A police complaint was lodged a few months back and a case was registered on Saturday. ASI RN Shrivastav said the accused have changed their mobile numbers but their search is on.
