Hyderabad: NCL Industries, the flagship company of the NCL Group in Hyderabad, is undertaking modernization and expansion of its cement units and strengthening its footprint in the door segment in the short term. The company plans to invest about 300 million in the cement segment. The Nagarjuna Cement brand sees the continuing demand from the trading segment, which contributes nearly 60 percent of the business, while the projects contribute about 35-40 percent in its markets. The company mainly focuses on Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
Roopa Bhupatiraju, executive director of NCL Industries, told Telangana Today: “We are working on both greenfield and brownfield projects to expand the production capacity of cement. We are doing modernization projects at our plant in Mattapalli in the Nalgonda district in Telangana to improve energy savings by replacing the old factories with new and advanced mills that can improve capacity. The work includes the installation of vertical roller mills to replace the old ball mills of the plant. “We are also setting up a grinding unit in AP and are waiting for permits and clearances. We have a total capacity of 2.7 million tons per year, and with the expansion it will increase to 3.6 million tons per year in the next two years, ”she added.
Asked about the cement question, she said: ‘Covid did not have an effect on the cement business, as the company was involved in government projects, whether Kaleshwaram or Polavaram, and provided stable supplies, despite the closure. Governments have invested in large-scale infrastructure projects, and this has kept the outlook for cement companies positive. ”
NCLdoor business
The company’s door products are fully designed and consist of Bison Panel which makes it water and fire resistant. “The company imports raw materials from Germany and Italy, uses European technology and manufactures the products in an advanced plant near Hyderabad, with the capacity to make 1,000 doors a day. The size of the facility ensures fast provision. The service also gives an edge over other products in the market, ‘she said.
Bhupatiraju added: ‘We have installed more than 10,000 doors so far. Initially, our focus was on Hyderabad, but we quickly expanded the potential for our products to ten major markets in India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune, Lucknow and Jaipur. The future of the door business is going to be good. The demand is there in different sectors, whether retail, services or manufacturing. ”
In the field of innovation, the company does a lot of research and development to bring a variety of products with different thicknesses and designs. Continuous innovation has enabled the company to meet the requirements of both B2B and B2C needs. The company is developing both premium and budget doors to meet diverse market requirements. ‘NCL recently developed doors for firefighters for the Mumbai market. We are certified for one hour fire rating. We will soon do a two-hour fire management, ‘she said. NCLdoor, which is now a two-year-old division, aims to break even by the end of this year or early next year. There is an increase in demand in the western, northern and eastern markets as the doors suit every climate. Bison panel walls also see demand in cold and wet climates. The company exports boards to the UAE and other markets.
