Delhi Govt school to get sports complex

NEW DELHI: Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia has instructed officials to start work on building sports complex at Government Girls Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Kohat Enclave. The new complex will include swimming pool, tennis and badminton courts meant to prepare future sports medalists.
On Saturday, Sisodia for the fourth consecutive day visited and assessed the ongoing infrastructure development work in Delhi government schools.
He also visited GBSSS Prashant Vihar, Sarvodaya Co-Ed Vidyalaya Sector-8 Rohini, and GGSSS Saraswati Vihar, where construction work for new classrooms is under way. As many as 100 new classrooms are being constructed at GBSSS Prashant Vihar. At Sarvodaya Co-Ed Vidyalaya Sector 8 Rohini, a block with 120 new classrooms is being built.

"Sports are as important as academics for an all-round development of children. Along with providing better education, Delhi government is also committed to provide better sporting facilities to them. While developing world-class infrastructure in its schools, the government is also establishing world-class sports facilities so that children benefit from them, train, earn medals and bring glory to the country," said Sisodia.
