NATIONAL SUMMARY
It will be another scorcher of a day Monday across the
Northwest. There will be plenty of sunshine and afternoon
temperatures will rocket past previous records in many
locations. In the Southwest it will also be hot, but closer
to average for late June. In the central part of the country
a nearly stationary system will continue to cause showers
and thunderstorms over a large area from New Mexico to
Louisiana northward to South Dakota to Michigan. Heavy
storms will be possible form central Oklahoma into northern
Indiana with a stronger storm from central Illinois into
central Indiana. Scattered storms will even develop in the
afternoon from New England to New York as well as across the
state of Florida. The rest of the east will be largely dry
and very warm to hot.
