- Proteas T20 captain Temba Bavuma said they'll have to discuss the sixth bowling option ahead of Sunday's second T20 against the West Indies.
- Bavuma tried Reeza Hendricks as a sixth bowling option and his over went for 21.
- Bavuma also said they won't have too much time to dwell on the comprehensive eight-wicket defeat from Saturday.
Proteas T20 skipper Temba Bavuma said the composition of their bowling attack is a conversation they need to have ahead of Sunday's second T20 against the West Indies in Grenada.
South Africa collected only two wickets in their failed defence of 160, which the West Indies reeled in in exactly 15 overs and eight wickets in hand.
Only Tabraiz Shamsi (1/27) went for less than seven an over in a spell of more than three overs, while Anrich Nortje's two overs went for 10.
Reeza Hendricks was given an over that was clouted for 21 while Lungi Ngidi (0/46), Kagiso Rabada (0/32), and George Linde (0/24) all went for more than 10 an over.
With Dwaine Pretorius having tested positive for Covid-19, the Proteas were without a sixth bowling option.
Bavuma said it was something they needed to have a conversation about.
"The sixth bowler has been a bit of a concern for us and we had to use Reeza as a sixth bowler," Bavuma said.
"Those are some of the conversations we need to have with regards to the composition of our side as the sixth bowler will give us a bit of breathing space."
Bavuma said the quick turnaround between games won't give them too much time to dwell on the negative result.
"You're right in that there's no time for us to change anything," Bavuma said.
"It will have to be from a mental point of view in terms of having discussions and coming up with different plans and ensuring we execute them in the next game."
