Manipuri Peoples' Front formed for Manipuri Community of Assam

A virtual general meeting was held on 23rd of May 2021 at Guwahati. Many distinguished social activists from Guwahati and other regions of the state also attended the virtual meeting. The respected attendees unanimously agreed to establish a Manipuri Organisation by the name of "Manipuri Peoples' Front" (MPF) w.ei. 24th of May 2021.

It was also decided that the Headquarters of the Organisation shall be at Guwahati. The basic Aims and Objectives of the Organisation are to unite, promote, and preserve the identity of the Manipuri community of Assam in particular and also for the other states of the country in General.

The virtual meeting was presided over by Thokchom Ngouba from Panjaban, Guwahati.

After a discussion of four hours with the members present in the virtual meeting, it was unanimously decided to form the Central Committee of MPF on Adhoc initially and also selected the following persons to the post shown against each name:

1. Yengkhom Upendra from Guwahati as President
2. Gour Kishor Leisungbam from Guwahati, as Vice President
3. Retd. Prof. Dr. Potsangbam Rajblhari from Lakhipur, as Vice President
4. Ayekpam Kunjamohan from Hojai, as Vice President
5. Thangjam Manila]. from Hailakandi as Vice President
6. Leisungbam Inga Ngamba from Guwahati as Secretary General
7. Raju Maibam from Guwahati, and
8. Basanta Meisnam from Guwahati as the Assistant General Secretary
9. Lukram Rajmohan from Guwahati as Finance Secretary
10. Sanjeev Haorongbam from Guwahati as Secretary, Media, Communication and Publicity
13. Mrs. R. K. Tamphasana Guwahati as Secretary, Art & Culture, and
13. Anup Koijam from Guwahati as Secretary, Organisation

The following persons as Executive members of the Central Committee of MPF:

1. Moirangthem Brajagobind Singh from Lakhipur
2. Retd. Major Phuritsabam Manidhon from Lakhipur
3. Sinam Surajit from Hailakandi
4, Thangjam Haribabu from Hailakandi
5. Nongmeikapam Babusana from Karimganj
6. Meisnam Bijoy from Karimganj
7. Ngasepam Sanahal from Hojai
8. Thangjam Chawren from Hojai
9. Ahmed Hussain Kazi from Lakhipur/Cachar
10. Ahmed Hussain Chowdhury from Sonai/Silchar
11. Huirem Milap Chand from Siichar
12. Khemamayum Dillip from Guwahati
13. Laishram Birchandra from Guwahati,
14, Sorensam Biradhon Guwahati, and
15 Mrs. Radha Singha from Guwahati.

Two Advisors for MPF Central committee were also selected in the virtual Meeting.

1. Thokchom Ngouba from Guwahati, and 2. Dr. Phuritsabam Birmani from Guwahati

I, Yengkhom Upendra, President of Manipuri Peoples' Front, swear in the name God, formally launch the Organisation and declare the Manipuri Peoples' Front (MPF) to have commenced with effect from today, the 24th of May 2021.
