Coronavirus Covid 19 cases in India Covid World Updates Live, Latest Corona Vaccination Live Updates, Delta Plus variant live updates June 26: India on Saturday reported nearly 50,000 fresh coronavirus cases. The health ministry’s daily health bulletin said that 48,698 new Covid 19 infections were detected in last 24 hours. While the Centre says that the second wave of the coronavirus is not over yet, number of active cases have gone down below 6 lakhs. India has been registering the decline in the cases and reporting higher numbers of recoveries for more than a month now. Amid this huge relief, the emergence of the Delta Plus variant has been reported from around 11 states across India. More studies are being done to understand the working of this mutation.

On the vaccination front, India has been doing better than last month. Since the launch of the new vaccination plan on June 21, India has seen higher number of jabs administered per day. After the record 90 lakh shots on June 21st, 50-60 lakh people are getting the corona jabs every day. It should be noted that Niti Aayog’s Dr VK Paul had said that the new vaccine plan will have a target of 1 crore Covid jabs per day. The latest CoWin data shows that around 7.5 lakh people got the Covid Jabs today.

Around the world, the US, UK and other European nations have been reporting the increased cases of Delta variant, which was first detected in India last October.

On Friday, an 80-year-old woman was the first case of death due to the Delta Plus variant. While the research is still on, the studies so far show that this variant can escape the vaccinated immune systems also. As India finds a new roadmap for safe unlock and faster vaccination to tackle coronavirus, here are the latest Covid updates from the country and around the world.
