BJP prepares for early assembly polls in five states

As the BJP is in power of all these states except Punjab, it had been holding a series of meetings of its senior leaders as it worked to put up an impressive show in the next round of elections.

The main agenda of the meeting of senior BJP leaders on Saturday was the preparations for the assembly polls in five states early next year. The meeting held was deliberated on political and governance issues linked to these states.

The party leaders said that the Party president JP Nadda and the Union Ministers, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, Narendra Singh Tomar, Smriti Irani, and Kiren Rijiju were among the ones who had attended the meeting.

A party leader had mentioned that the main agenda of the meeting was for the preparation for the assembly polls in the five states.

The assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Goa had been slated for early next year.
