There are a million stories about people falling in love and living happily ever after. But sometimes, you just need to see what happens after a couple breaks up and decides they no longer love each other, and that perhaps it is best to love yourself—in a hilarious way, of course! No one said break-ups have to be all about heartache anyway. So, whether you're happily married, fabulously single, or in a loving quad, these five titles on Netflix will keep you entertained even as they make you believe that not all endings are sad.

Good on Paper (2021)

Starring Iliza Shlesinger (also the screenwriter for this title), Margaret Cho, Rebecca Rittenhouse, and Ryan Hansen, Netflix's Good on Paper is Kimmy Gatewood's directorial debut. The story revolves around a stand-up comic, Andrea Singer—in her mid-forties with a prolific career—who's ready for love. She even stumbles upon the perfect man (a Yale graduate, owns a house in Beverly Hills, etc) on paper. However, the great question looms, is he everything he appears to be?

Playing It Cool (2014)

Starring Chris Evans, Michelle Monaghan, Anthony Mackie, Topher Grace, along with Aubrey Plaza, Patrick Warburton, and Ioan Gruffudd, Playing It Cool deserves to be watched for its quirkiness. While the protagonists go by the names Me and Her, the story is about a screenwriter who is dying to write an action film but ends up with a romantic assignment. Little does he know, his life is about to turn upside down.

With Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaugh in the lead, The Break-Up is one of Peyton Reed's finest films (with a profit of 150+ million dollars, one of the highest-grossing films as well). The film follows a couple who decide to part ways after escalating arguments. However, due to financial reasons, they are stuck together until their condo is sold. Laughter ensues as both try to make the other jealous in various ways, all the while, nursing a broken heart.

Directed by Cameron Crowe, Almost Famous stars Kate Hudson, Billy Crudup, Frances McDormand, and Patrick Fugit. An anti-romantic comedy with elements of a Bildungsroman, the film follows a child prodigy and young writer as he tries to get his stories published.
