Chandigarh, June 25
Food and Civil Supplies Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu today suspended four food inspectors posted at Sultanpur Lodhi for not disbursing wheat to eligible beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act.
The minister said after initial probe, four food inspectors — Vivek Sharma, Bhupinder Singh, Vikas Sethi and Rajeshwar Singh — had been suspended with immediate effect.
He said complaints were received against these four. Further inquiry into the matter had been entrusted to the Deputy Director, Patiala division. The minister said the probe officer had been asked to submit a report within a fortnight. —TNS
