MP: 3 children drowned in a rainwater filled pit

In Shajapur district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday, two minor sisters and their eight-year-old cousin brother drowned in a pit filled with rainwater at Gulana village, as said by the Police on Saturday. The incident occurred on Friday evening at Gulana village which was under the jurisdiction of Salsalai police station, and was 25 km from the district headquarters.

The two girls, eight years old and six years old, who were the cousin of the boy, were the residents of Mohan Badodia.

The Gulana Police post-in-charge Takesingh Dhulia said that the three children; the boy and his two cousin sister of age eight and six years old, had drowned in a pit filled with rainwater while they were playing close to their house.

Takesingh Dhulia said that when the mishap occurred, the two girls had come to visit their uncle’s place, and they were residents of another village in the same Shajapur district.

Mr. Dhulia said that after the post-mortem, the bodies of the boy and the two girls had been handed over to the family members, and a case had been registered over it and the incident was being investigated.

The autopsy of the three children in the incident had been done and the final words of the police are yet to be said.
