Thane: Drive-in vaccination centre for 18 to 44 years is getting a good response from Thanekars. In the last two days, around 600 people took the benefit of the drive-in vaccination initiative carried out by Thane Municipal corporation.

The drive started in support of Raymond company and was held in the Raymond ground. Beneficiaries are required to pre-register through CoWin.

On Friday the drive-in vaccination centre was inaugurated by cabinet Minister, Eknath Shinde along with Mayor Naresh Mhaske and Municipal Commissionerof Thane municipal corporation, Dr Vipin Sharma along with others, were present.

After getting a good response in the drive-in vacation for senior citizens, the central government has allowed vaccination for 18 to 44 years. "To lower the crowd at normal vaccination centres the drive was started. Our main purpose is to vaccinate more and more people in a day", said Naresh Mhaske, Mayor, Thane.

"We daily had a target of 300 vaccinations at the centre. Accordingly, online registration for 300 people is allowed, who further take the dose. In the last two days around 600 people took the vaccination dose. The beneficiary should be accompanied with a driver and a person or caretaker with them. It will be held at the ground from 11am to 4pm", said an official from TMC.
