Freddy Galvis out for Orioles with right quadriceps injury

Baltimore Orioles shortstop Freddy Galvis suffered a right quadriceps injury against the Blue Jays Saturday. The 10-year veteran limped off the field after laying down a successful bunt in the second inning and was later carted from the dugout to the visitors clubhouse.

Galvis suffered a right groin strain April 26 that caused him to miss time. That injury wasn't ultimately serious as he has still managed to appear in 71 games this year, batting .249 with 26 RBIs and nine home runs.

The Orioles signed Galvis last offseason. Before that, he spent the first six years of his career in Philadelphia before bouncing among San Diego, Toronto and Cincinnati.

For his career, Galvis has batted .247 with 412 RBIs and 104 home runs.
