Three arrested for murder of their partner over drugs dispute in Navi Mumbai

Thane, Jun 26 (UNI) The Vashi police have arrested three people from Navi Mumbai on the charge of allegedly brutally killing their partner over dispute on sale of narcotics.
On Thursday night at around 2200 hours, the victim was brutally killed by then some unidentified people who attacked him with iron rods on his head and other parts of the body at Juhugaon.
Following the incident, police rushed in, sent the body for postmortem and registered a case under section 302 of Indian Penal Code against unknown people, police said on Saturday.
The victim was later identified as Joseph Christopher (32), by his neighbours. He was a habitual offender in the crime records of the Vashi police
A probe into the crime by the police revealed that Christopher was involved in supply of drugs business along with three others in the locality and they used to quarrel frequently over distribution of the money amongst them.
On a tip off, police on Friday arrested the trio who attacked him with iron rod and killed him over one such dispute on the fateful night.
The arrested accused have been identified as Vijay Rathod (33), Tohid Peer Ali Khan (35) and Suraj Mandre (28).
They were produced before a local magistrate who remanded them into police custody for a week, sources added.
