Two and a half decades of marriage? You got it, dude.
In honor of her 25th wedding anniversary to Valeri Bure, “Full House” actress Candace Cameron Bure is sharing the “secret” to how they made it work. Though she did share that they are “still learning every year,” Bure had a handful of specific items on the list to making a marriage last.
“Communication (which is so important but difficult when one partner isn’t willing.),” the 45-year-old actress shared. “Sex. Laughter. Patience. Lots of patience. Love (a verb. which must be put into action, it’s not just a feeling.).”
Bure, who has three children with her husband, shared her keys to success on social media along with a handful of photos from the anniversary trip she took with her husband.
Within the lengthy caption dedicated to her quarter of a century long union, Bure made sure to add that despite how long they’ve been together even her marriage isn’t “perfect.”
“No marriage is picture perfect. Not one. And certainly not ours. But through thick and thin, ups and downs, God has blessed us tremendously with guidance and perseverance,” Bure added. “I believe God is the secret sauce.”
This isn’t the first time Bure has credited sex as an important part of her marriage.
In Nov. 2020, Bure opened up about her sex life with her husband after her Christian following came after her for posting a picture of her husband grabbing her boob on social media.
“Sex is the blessing of marriage and I hate when Christians are like, ‘no, you have to pretend like you’ve never had sex, and we only know that you’ve had sex three times because you’ve had three children,'” the actress explained on the “Confessions of a Crappy Christian” podcast. “If we are to promise ourselves for one another and preach saving yourself for marriage, then sex needs to be celebrated within marriage.”
Bure and her former hockey player husband wed on June 22, 1996.
