Three teams are competing for two slots in the Copa America quarterfinals

The remaining two positions in the Copa America quarterfinals are up for grabs between Peru, Ecuador, and Venezuela. Argentina, led by Lionel Messi is favoured to win the prize.
The best four teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage of the Covid-fested event in Brazil.
With nine points, Brazil leads Group B, followed by Colombia and Peru with four, Venezuela with three, and Ecuador with two. Colombia is the only side in the group to have completed all four games.

Peru will almost certainly progress if it does not lose to Venezuela on Sunday.
Ecuador must defeat Brazil, the tournament’s host and defending champion. Even if Ecuador loses, it can still advance if Venezuela loses to Peru and the goal differential does not change significantly. After three games, the Ecuadorians have a one-point deficit while the Venezuelans have a three-point deficit.
Bolivia has been ousted from Group A after three defeats. Argentina is in first place with seven points, followed by Paraguay, Chile, and Uruguay. The fourth-place finisher will face Brazil in the final.
Uruguay needs a win or a tie against Paraguay on Monday to knock Chile out of fourth place. Chile has already completed all four of its group games.
According to CONMEBOL, there were 166 known COVID-19 cases at the Copa America in Brazil on Friday.
The figures comprised all tests performed up until Monday, the same day the soccer governing body announced that 140 people had been sick as a result of the event.
CONMEBOL reported that 22,856 tests were conducted on people connected to the competition, with 0.7 percent of the results being positive. That figure was 0.9 percent at the start of the week.
CONMEBOL works with Brazil’s Ministry of Health to track cases. The coronavirus is thought to have killed over 510,000 individuals.
The majority of the positive instances, according to the statement, were of outsourced personnel who had not yet been vaccinated. CONMEBOL stated that it has no control over why those individuals did not receive their vaccinations.
Since the tournament began, seventeen players have tested positive, with 15 of them returning to their national squad following a period of isolation, according to CONMEBOL.
