Rajasthan: Former finance secretary Arvind Mayaram courts row over ‘hiring pilots’ cartoon

JAIPUR: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s economic advisor and former finance secretary Arvind Mayaram courted controversy on Thursday when he shared a cartoon on ‘hiring pilots’ on Twitter. BJP leaders and people linked the cartoon, over which Mayaram wrote “wicked wit”, to the ongoing tussle between Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot.

The cartoon’s caption read: “I don’t have a pilot license or any flying experience. Recruit me for the cancelled flights.” Mayaram’s mother was a minister during Gehlot’s first tenure as chief minister from 1998 to 2003.
