Harry Maguire used a state-of-the-art injury recovery device in his sleep to get him fit for the Euros.
The Manchester United defender was a major doubt for the tournament after suffering ankle ligament damage on May 9.
It was feared the injury would keep him out for 10 weeks, but he returned to the England XI well ahead of schedule, playing the whole of Tuesday’s 1-0 win over the Czech Republic.

Maguire’s recovery was aided by a revolutionary piece of kit that reduces swelling and bruising around injuries by providing cooling, heating and compression.
The ProMOTION EV1, made by a company in which Wayne Rooney is an investor, is a small, battery-powered unit that does not require ice, water or gel packs and can monitor temperature on the skin to within one degree. It also allows data capture via an app, meaning players and medical staff can track progress.
Maguire even used the machine in his sleep to give himself the best possible opportunity of being available for Gareth Southgate’s plans.
