Law will be implemented to monitor fee hikes by Pvt schools : Min

Chandigarh, Jun 25 (UNI) Haryana Education and Forest and Environment Minister Kanwarpal said on Friday that a law will be implemented in the state to monitor the continuous fee hike by private schools so as to ensure that schools do not overcharge.
He added that fee hike of more than 8-10 per cent in a year cannot be justified in any way.
Mr Kanwarpal said this while interacting with media persons after the meeting of the District Grievance Redressal Committee in Karnal today.

Responding to a question, the Education Minister said that a law will also be brought by the Government on SLC's and the parents will have to pay the school expenses for giving SLC.
He assured that private schools will not be allowed to charge arbitrarily. Also, he said that Sanskriti Model Schools have been set up on the lines of private schools in Haryana where children are being given quality education.
Earlier, 15 complaints were raised in the meeting out of which three complainants were absent. Education Minister, Sh. Kanwarpal heard 12 complaints and resolved 11 on the spot. On some complaints, he also directed the officers to investigate thoroughly.

Government and non-official members including Mayor Smt. Renu Bala Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Sh. Ganga Ram Punia, Municipal Commissioner, Dr. Manoj Kumar were present in the meeting.
