Ofcom launches competition assessment of BBC Three TV channel plans

UK regulator Ofcom is consulting on plans by the BBC to relaunch BBC Three as a TV channel, which constitutes a material change to its UK public services. In light of potential competition issues raised by respondents to the BBC's Public Interest Test (PIT), Ofcom will now conduct a full, detailed competition assessment and is inviting comments from any interested parties. The consultation closes on 08 July.
