Detached garage total loss after residential fire in Port Huron Twp.
There were no injuries after a Port Huron Township house fire Thursday night.
The Port Huron Township Fire Department responded to a report of a detached garage on fire in the 3000 block of Oakwood Drive shortly after 9:30 p.m., Chief Dan Mainguy said.
When firefighters arrived, they found a 30- by 30-foot detached garage in flames, Mainguy said. The fire had also spread to the nearby one-story home.
All occupants of the home were outside when the fire was discovered, he said.
Firefighters got the fire under control in about 30 minu and cleared the scene shortly before midnight, Mainguy said.
He said the garage was a total loss and the home sustained moderate damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Port Huron Fire Department, Port Huron Township Department of Public Works and Tri-Hospital EMS also assisted at the scene. The Kimball Township Fire Department manned Port Huron Township's station while they were at the scene.
