‘Below Deck: Sailing Yacht’ star Captain Glenn denies Sydney dating rumors

“Below Deck: Sailing Yacht” star Captain Glenn Shephard shut down speculation that he is dating deckhand Sydney Zaruba on Friday.

“And the news is: Syd and I are great friends. And she’s dating a captain. A different Captain,” Shephard wrote alongside a snap of the pair, editing it from a previous caption that teased their relationship status.

The caption initially read, “I guess the news is out,” with Zaruba commenting on the pic with heart emojis.

Along with fans, engineer Colin MacRae appeared to have fallen for the joke, commenting, “Don’t screw the crew Glenn come onnnn.”

Fans began to theorize about the pair’s relationship status earlier this week when Zaruba revealed on the Bravo show’s reunion that her current “partner” is a captain on the boat on which she’s currently working and the two have been dating for five months.

Further adding fuel to the fire, Zaruba posted a lengthy thank you message to Shephard on her Instagram. Both are coincidentally currently working in Palma de Mallorca, Spain and have posted other recent photos together.

When asked by The Daily Beast last month his relationship status, Shepherd said he was “not married” but “not celibate.” However, he added, “Working in this industry, especially for someone my age, there are some beautiful people, but they’re half my age. I’m not chasing stewardesses.”

The relationship would have been just another bombshell for the second season of the Bravo show; Zaruba was part of a love triangle on the show and after filming, stewardess Dani Soares revealed that she was pregnant, with deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux assumed to be the father.

However, the junior deckhand has said he is awaiting a paternity test for baby Lilly.

Third stewardess Alli Dore also revealed at the reunion that she is expecting her first child with new boyfriend Benny Thompson.
