Hitachi Vantara, a subsidiary of digital infrastructure, data management, and digital solutions company Hitachi, has acquired data management firm Io-Tahoe, a subsidiary of the UK energy company Centrica.
Founded in 2017, Io-Tahoe ties data engineering, science, and analytics in an open unified platform. This innovation is said to allow data teams to collaborate and innovate faster.
Hitachi Vantara says the addition of Io-Tahoe is part of the company’s investment to enhance its strategy to be the digital transformation leader in critical social infrastructure sectors such as energy, transportation, financial services, healthcare, and manufacturing.
Hitachi Vantara adds that Io-Tahoe's AI-driven data management software will help Fortune 1000 clients address their toughest data challenges by driving data quality, data lineage, workflow approval, governance, and regulatory compliance to deliver business outcomes.
These capabilities will be integrated with the Lumada DataOps Suite, a flexible data management fabric that provides integration, catalogue, and edge capabilities.
Hitachi Vantara chief product officer Radhika Krishnan says the company is excited to add Io-Tahoe’s technology in data governance, quality and compliance to the Lumada DataOps Suite.
“We are dedicated in enabling our customers to transform their businesses through data and this acquisition strengthens our ability to do so. As data environments become complex, Lumada will now provide more context and meaning to information, allowing data innovators to leverage data more accurately with improved time to value,” Krishnan notes.
Io-Tahoe chief executive officer Ajay Vohora says Hitachi Vantara is the perfect fit for Io-Tahoe’s data automation technology.
“The Lumada DataOps Suite should be a cornerstone in any data-driven initiative and its integration with Io-Tahoe’s technology creates a compelling set of offerings with true business impact across a number of industries,” Vohora concludes.
Ajay Vohora is at the helm of Io-Tahoe. Vohora received his PhD in Data Science from Cambridge University, England.
Vohora, along with Io-Tahoe’s team in New York, Europe and India, will report to Hitachi Vantara chief product officer Radhika Krishnan.
