Cell C moves more prepaid subscribers to MTN network

Thursday 24 June 2021 | 13:52 CET | News
South African operator Cell C said it has decommissioned 34 percent of its Radio Entry Community (RAN) websites and migrated pay as you go and mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) clients to its associate community, MTN, by way of a digital RAN. The focus first went mainly to the three provinces of Jap Cape, Free State and Northern Cape. Migration there is now full. In the next six months, Cell C plans to decommission a further 10 percent of its network sites, with a focus in North-West, Limpopo, Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga.
