They developed a vaccine and named it as a ‘super vaccine’ and is expected to prevent infections from future corona virus variants. When injected into the mice, the vaccine generated neutralising antibodies successfully. They also stated that this super vaccine is not only protecting the mice from Covid-19 but also from different group 2B corona viruses. This group 2B viruses are the extensive family of different corona viruses named Sarbecoviruses. The vaccine has the potential to fight against new covid variants.

The scientists said that the human trials will be made next year. When injected into the mice, the vaccine prevented both infection and lung damage. The findings are revealed in the journal ‘Science’ by lead authors Martinez and a Hanna H.Gray Fellow on the Howard Hughes Medical Institute together with Baric.
