Indore: The Madhya Pradesh Western Region Power Distribution Company is installing a global positioning system (GPS) to prevent misuse of its official vehicles. So far, GPS has been installed in 600 vehicles used by field officials. GPS will be installed on the remaining 200 vehicles in a month.

In order to prevent misuse of the vehicles, the West Discom made GPS installation mandatory in this financial year.

Due to the second wave of Covid-19, the pace of GPS installation had slowed down, but it has now picked up as the number of corona cases has declined. Now, through the app, officers of the company will be able to see the numbers of the vehicles and check at what place they are.

West Discom managing director Amit Tomar has entrusted the responsibility of supervising the work to CGM Santosh Tagore. The work of GPS is going on in full swing in all 15 districts, Tagore said.
